I love these sneakers, my son is 1.5 and I know what everyone is talking about when they're saying the color rubs off on the toe area that has happened on my little guys shoes, the way he gets up after falls or sitting on the floor.

What I really like about these sneakers is that they are not narrow in the least, very roomy in the toe nice and wide for chubby feet. Also the mesh gives little feet good air flow, no strings to tie and they make little feet look so stream line lol not bulky like little they're walking on boxes. So far I bought the black and white, Blue and grey next will be the red on white and all white for summer's special occasions.

They are extremely lightweight and bright colored (bought the blue/grey) and my 2 1/2 year old (size 8.5) thinks they're "cool chews". He's usually a wide food but they fit fine in regular size so in that regard, I'm happy. I do not however like how slick they are when they hit a slight bit of wetness. There is NO TRACTION! With these being marketed as toddler shoes too, I feel they should have some better traction as these kiddos do not know how to take it easy and control themselves in potentially wet surfaces. He's had them a couple weeks now and the only downfall besides the traction issues which is major in my book, is the color at the toe is rubbing off quickly. Otherwise, the Velcro is sufficient and he appears very comfortable in them.

Comments about Champion Boys' Gusto Lightweight Runner:

Shoes comterble, color is nice , but didn't have litter kid size, stop at 12.5.
Youth have different style, didn't not come with strap size in size 1 and above.
Too bad, whoever design it lack of thought for kids.

Love These!

By

from St. Louis, MO

Comments about Champion Boys' Gusto Lightweight Runner:

We love these shoes! We prefer a light weight and flexible sole shoe. These are just that plus are non marking which our sons school requires. We have not found a shoe that meets all of these requirements anywhere. We buy these when they are on sale and stock up several sizes. Yes, the color wears down but we have never had the structure of the shoe fail. Same thing happens to the clothes of a 4-year old ;) For the price, you can buy two pair of the same size if you really wanted. I find that he grows out of the half size before the shoe fails so it works out ;)

Great shoe, coloring in very front bottom rubs off

Comments about Champion Boys' Gusto Lightweight Runner:

I bought this for my 3 year old and he is pretty rough on shoes and the only problem we had was the first couple days the blue in the very front near bottom of shoe rubbed off to white, Honestly i think it is because the color is on the rubber, my teenager has this shoe as well in the larger men sizes and the color does not extend to that part so there is no rubbing off of color. Of course, this only happens in certain colorways, just check pictures.
The shoe is very breathable, and comes in wide, which is great. I actually ordered the regular width for my son on accident since he normally wears a wide, but his foot was ok because of the stretchy material the shoe is made of.
Have had this shoe for a few months , with 2 of the months being my sons only shoe that fit him so was used very frequently, and no seperation of the shoe has occured. Good deal.

Happy

Comments about Champion Boys' Gusto Lightweight Runner:

I'm quite surprised at these reviews as I am actually on the site looking to pick up another color combination of these shoes for my son. He is in Kindergarten and is VERY hard on shoes and he absolutely loves these. They are easy for him to put on and off himself and are lightweight so he is always asking for them on gym days. My 2 1/2 year-old daughter has the toddler version and is also always gravitating towards these shoes over others. Yes, a bit of the color has worn off of my son's red/gray pair, but that is to be expected in this price-point. I think it's important to have realistic expectations since these aren't a high-end brand.

Just OK

Comments about Champion Boys' Gusto Lightweight Runner:

Let me preface this review by saying my kids are VERY HARD on shoes. I've tried all brands from cheap to designer and nothing works. I figured what the heck I'll go cheap as I can go and if they fall apart, oh well. Unfortunately, these didn't quite meet my expectations because they fell apart quicker than I even imagined.
Pros: Attractive style (mimics those that rhyme with mikey tree); comfortable; lightweight; relatively inexpensive
Cons: Durability
Specific durability issues in order of occurrence: color on sole areas wears off easily (starting day 1 - literally in the store as we wore them out); smooth layer on top separates from mesh underlayer (starting week 1-2); fake laces stretch out and hang loosely (week 3-4); looks like a complete mess overall (by week 5-6).
All this said, my kid likes the shoes and finds them comfortable, but they are to the point that they have to be replaced and it hasn't even been two months yet.

Comments about Champion Boys' Gusto Lightweight Runner:

I bought the shoes when my son began walking because it is a light weight shoe. However, because of the thin material I knew it would not last long if I purchase the shoes for school when he got older. It was great for learning to walk. He wore the black and white shoes. I didn't have any problems with them except he grew out of them too fast. The shoes are good for a beginner but after size 7-8 it may be best to choose a tougher style.

Color rubs off

By

from Auburndale, FL

Comments about Champion Boys' Gusto Lightweight Runner:

My 8 year old wears a size 12. He picked out the grey and red shoes; he loves the color, the fact that they are velcro for easy on/off, and he says they are very comfortable. However, same as other reviewers have stated, the quality is lacking. My son is not particularly hard on shoes, but by the end of the first school week (5 days after we'd gotten them), the color on the red trim at the tip of the toe had worn off in patches, showing the white underneath. The shoes still look practically new otherwise- even the soles still look brand new. They need to fix the design so the paint on the trim lasts longer than a week, and these would be 5 star shoes.
