Great buy for us!

By

Comments about American Ballet Theatre for Spotlights Girls' Ballet Shoe:

We have purchased many pairs of ballet shoes for our daughter over the years, and these are really good shoes. She says they're comfortable, and they are good, durable shoes. I bought our last pair of ballet shoes over Christmas break last year. It was bit of trial and error to find her perfect size, because (as you can see from other reviews) they do run small, like most ballet shoes. I then bought her shoes 1/2 size larger, because she grew out of her last pair within 6 months. They've lasted us almost a year, and she only recently started complaining that they're feeling tight.

OUCH!

Comments about American Ballet Theatre for Spotlights Girls' Ballet Shoe:

Horrible! The synthetic material on these is so hard it hurt my daughters foot. Not to mention it cut in the back of her heel and gave her a horrible blister. I ended up going to a near by dance store, purchased a pair of professional fit, LEATHER ballet shoes that were $18.50!! Less than this piece of junk. Never again.

Best Ballet Shoes

By

from Mineola, TX

Comments about American Ballet Theatre for Spotlights Girls' Ballet Shoe:

These are the best ballet shoes we have tried. Very durable -- they last well enough to be handed down as hand-me-downs.

They run small, so size up 1 or 2 sizes from your street shoe size -- this wasn't surprising. It seems most ballet shoes run small and you have to size up (so, size up and you'll be fine!) Very comfortable; my daughters do not complain about their feet hurting or anything.

I do cut the bow off -- it's a hassle to try to keep it tied.

Comments about American Ballet Theatre for Spotlights Girls' Ballet Shoe:

I have now purchased 2 pairs of this ballet shoe for my 5 year old daughter and would (and have) recommend them to anyone! She began taking ballet last year and I had NO idea where to purchase her ballet shoes from. After searching online and seeing the prices, I almost gave up. I remembered seeing dance shoes in Payless and paid a visit...purchased her ballet and jazz shoes the same day. I have since replaced each shoe (due to a growth spurt). I did go up a size, contrary to what most people say, due to her wide little feet. This works PERFECTLY for her. It does leave a pinch of room at the toes, but creates better comfort for her feet. Again. I would recommend these to anyone. They withstand her rough and tumble ways and her regular use (at least 2x/week).

A waste of money

Comments about American Ballet Theatre for Spotlights Girls' Ballet Shoe:

My 4 year old granddaughter started ballet class. Payless was the only store in town that carried ballet slippers. The information I was give was to purchase shoes where my granddaughter's toes touched the end of the shoe. The shoes were a waste of $20. My granddaughter complains every time she wears the shoes that they hurt her toes. She ends up dancing without slippers. I am going to have to buy her another pair that her fit her correctly. I ended up cutting off the ties because they are pointless and wouldn't stay tied, even with a double not. I spent $20 for nothing.

Terrible

Comments about American Ballet Theatre for Spotlights Girls' Ballet Shoe:

I bought these to wear for my performance at church because i didnt want to destroy my good Capezio shoes on the carpet. These shoes are full sole, which do not look good when you point your feet, and they bunch up too. And, when you tighten them to stay on your feet, it pinches your ankle and is VERY uncomfortable.

Sizing

Comments about American Ballet Theatre for Spotlights Girls' Ballet Shoe:

These shoes are great! The only issue I had is with the sizing. The website does advise to go down a full size from your street shoes. I ordered my girls these shoes in their street shoe size and they were SUPER TIGHT! I have researched online and sites advise to go up to 2 sizes bigger than your street size for a comfortable fit.

Good value for young dancers

Comments about American Ballet Theatre for Spotlights Girls' Ballet Shoe:

My 5 year old has danced for 2 years and these are our go-to shoes for her classes. They are comfortable and durable. They even lasted as hand me downs for baby sister to play ballet dancer in. Now that baby sister is old enough to join in ballet classes as well I am returning to buy her own shoes from Payless and the same brand. Good value, pretty color, and durable. My major problem is the laces. They are always coming undone, as others have reviewed - they come loose even after double knotting, so I just got them off. I can't stand retying them over and over again. But thats just me - perhaps a dollop of clear nail polish might keep them secure? Either way they aren't so loose that they fall off or come loose so we continue with these shoes.
