Cheer show magic

By

from Perryopolis, pa

Comments about Champion Kids' Gusto Runner:

I purchased these shoes for my daughter for competitive cheerleading, as she needed an all white shoe that is very flexible and light. These shoes have simply stunned me. They are able to give her the full range of movement she is needed, plus after a full cheer season, they still look brand new. Extremely durable. I am stocking up on a few bigger sizes now so we have them stocked for years to come. In love with them!

Not durable, but it works.

By

from Salt Lake City

Comments about Champion Kids' Gusto Runner:

My girls wear uniforms to school, including shoes. I used to buy leather Mary Jane style shoes, but then they need to change shoes for PE. It's not easy to find comfy all-black tennies, so we keep going back for these. We end up buying at least two pairs to get through the year. The main problem, which we have had with name brand athletic shoes too, is the memory foam liner. Holes wear through the liner at the heel and toes, making the shoes uncomfortable. (I thought I solved that problem when I found cut-to-fit $1 insole replacements, but they were discontinued at our local big box store. Not economical to buy pricier insoles when these shoes cost about $20.) My 6th grader's current pair had the end of her lace fall apart, fraying several inches. The layer around the toe has totally detached from the main fabric on one shoe. She started the year with a pair she still fit into from last year, so this will be the third pair for the school year.

On the plus side, these shoes are VERY comfortable and lightweight. And as my girls are at that age when they grow a shoe size every few months, I don't worry about sinking too much money into shoes they won't wear for long. Thus, we end up buying these tennies in other colors for non-uniform wear.

I recommend these only IF you expect to have to replace them rather frequently.

Good shoe for the money!

By

from Oklahoma City

Comments about Champion Kids' Gusto Runner:

I purchased these shoes for my son because they met dress code requirements. Now let's get real, they are not name brand, but for the money a great buy! Like most boys in grade school he's rough on shoes regardless of the brand. He's gone through more expensive shoes at the same rate as these Gusto Runners, and he LOVES them! So why spend upwards of $100 on shoes he's going to tear up in a couple of months when I can buy 4 pair for the same price to last the school year! Pop some multi-colored Hickie shoe laces in, and I'm done!

Ok. They aren't durable.

By

from Nevada

Comments about Champion Kids' Gusto Runner:

These were the ONLY shoes I could find to fit and conform to the school's dress code. After searching everywhere and multiple returns to online retailers, I felt like throwing a party in the aisle when we found these. Now the ones available in our local stores have a white sole, so we can't use them.
They don't last well at all. The liner on the footbed lasted about a week and a half before starting to bunch up in the shoe. My kid has had problems with the bark on the school playground sticking into and even through the sole.
We had to buy a second pair in roughly two months. Another two months and I'm buying a third pair. They are expensive and they don't last, but Payless has us hostage by providing an all black shoe that fits.
The bottom line question asks if I would recommend the shoe. I have to answer yes because parents at school have wanted to know where to buy them. However, I warn them that they're expensive and don't last. I'm always on the lookout for a better alternative but I haven't seen it yet.

By

Comments about Champion Kids' Gusto Runner:

I bought this shoe in black and white for my daughter and they lasted a for at least 6 months. My daughter is rough on everything so 6 months is excellent. Purchasing this shoe is a great idea. I am reordering another set.

Good Value

Comments about Champion Kids' Gusto Runner:

Bought these for my daughter (age 9). She wore them for both cheer practice and to school. She said they started off really comfy, but by the middle of the year the memory foam was completely flat and she said the shoes hurt her feet by the end of a school day. I would buy them again, but just for cheer, not for school.

Daughter LOVES them

By

Comments about Champion Kids' Gusto Runner:

My daughter is flat footed so comfort is a must, we were out looking for shoes before school started and we stopped in payless she picked these out cause they were solid white and that's what we were going for so they would match any outfit. I was a little concerned cause they felt thin to me and I was afraid they wouldn't last. I am happy to say they wash up very well and they are the best shoes, they truly last.

Fantastic show for kids who wear orthotics!!

By

Comments about Champion Kids' Gusto Runner:

I really like these sneakers. They look super cute, we haven't had any issues when them breaking, they have held up well. My son has had his current pair for 6 mos and they are still holding up nice. I have to say, if your child wears orthotics like mine does, this shoes is perfect. There is plenty of room for the orthotic and my sons says they are super comfy. The only complaint is the price. I think the price is to high for a kids shoe. I usually wait to buy them when there is a sale, especially a BOGO sale.
