I bought these for my trip to the Crowsnest pass in Alberta. I knew my sister was going to take me on a number of hikes so I thought I had better buy a pair of hiking shoes. I grabbed these shoes because of the price and really didn't expect much. Well I did a lot of hiking and the last day there climbed to the top of Crowsnest mountain (see pic). The shoes held up great and I did not get one blister during the whole trip even though they were brand new. That has never happened before, I always get blisters breaking shoes in.

Awesome shoe for the price!!

I have purchased Rugged Outback in the past and found them to be very comfortable and well built. I purchased a pair of these to replace an older pair of Rugged Outbacks. Within the first week of wearing them, the inner soul of the right shoe broke down and was completely unwearable. The left shoe is still in good shape and the neither shoe shows any wear at all. I would not recommend Rugged Outback shoes to anyone, especially if you are counting on them for hiking. If they break down while on the trail, you will be stuck with totally unwearable shoes to get you home.

Not Rugged at all

By

Comments about Rugged Outback Men's Ridge Mid Hiker:

I wore shoes on hikes only four times and the innersole has crushed into the heel. I bought them on 23 October 2016 and this has happened already. One of the reasons why i chose the shoe was the sole design, one complete piece instead of the sole with the thin rubber bit. I am absolutely disappointed.

Waste of Money

Comments about Rugged Outback Men's Ridge Mid Hiker:

The souls of these shoes fell apart within a few weeks. The blew out in the heals and then started to separate on the ball of the shoe.

Comments about Rugged Outback Men's Ridge Mid Hiker:

I like the feel, comfort and price on these shoes. They do not seem to hold up long (6 months?). I just buy 2 pairs whenever there is a BOGO and accept the reality. I like the shoes.

I had my boots for about 6 mos and now the right heel has split and pulled away from the sole. Shoes are now junk.

Not recommended for outdoor use

Comments about Rugged Outback Men's Ridge Mid Hiker:

I use these shoes less than half an hour a day for yardwork and such. No running. Nothing strenuous. Within a week a small hole had developed on the side of the shoe. Now (several months later) the top has completely separated from the sole. Who invented a shoe that is destroyed by walking outside?

Comments about Rugged Outback Men's Ridge Mid Hiker:

I purchased these boots for a hiking trip. My companions had similar styled boots, but way more expensive. I received many compliments on my boots and no one believed they were from Payless, LOL. These boots are very sturdy, comfortable and have excellent ankle support. I highly recommend them.
