My son's favorite shoes!
My son has four pairs of winter shoes: brown, black, play, and snow boots. I had bought a pair of brown shoes, ugly things, at a different store and my son and husband both couldn't stand them. I took my son into Payless and he fell in love with these shoes. Even told me to donate the shoes he wore in because "he didn't need them anymore." As they were never worn for play, they've held up very well all season and could be worn again next year except I'm sure his feet will grow before then. Would definitely buy again and probably will if they're still offered! (I said wider than marked but that was just because of how easily they go on. There is NO fighting with these shoes!)

LOVE SMART FIT!
The most important aspect of a child's shoe is the flexability of the the sole for proper development. VERY few brands have truely flexable soles-Trust me I've looked far and wide! This shoe has it at a fraction of a price. I have bought smart fit shoes for my kids since they were born. I just go in and grab the next size up. My only complaint is that there are really only one style with the really flexable soles. I have not had any issue with these wearing out, but my little guy is only 2 so he isn't out and about as much as older kids so we'll see. My 4 year old however has worn them since she was born and the tips of hers scuff up easier, but they are made from a different type of material than the boys' version.

Good Shoe at a Good Price
We first bought a pair of these shoes for my son as he entered Kindergarten. They lasted the entire year and he liked them so much that we have gone back every year since and bought the same shoe in the next size. We are getting ready to start back to school shopping this week and I hope that this shoe is still available in his size to start 4th grade.

Not for Little Boys
I bought two pairs of these shoes, one for my 5 year old and the other for my almost 2 year old. I bought them to be their "nice shoes" to wear with their cuter outfits. Let me first say that every single pair of shoes they have ever worn is from payless, and these are by far the worst. Within hours of wearing them out for the first time the brown coloring on the toes was completely worn off, making them pretty much ruined. I still love payless, but I would avoid these shoes unless you have a little boy that doesn't walk.
