I'm on my feet all day AND a huge fan of Mary Janes. I fell in love with these! Yes, like EVERY shoe you have to break these in. I wear them all year long, in rain, snow, mud, etc. I liked them so much that I've got 4 pairs. The only cons are the lack of more colors in wide. I wanted brown but they only came in medium. Please bring back brown, and maybe add white.

As other reviewers have said, the sizing is off. My regular size, 8 regular, was a bit too big, so I opted for the 7.5, and it seemed to fit fine when I walked around the store in them. However, after the first day of wearing them to work (I walk a mile and a half to work and work in an office environment) I knew that the shoes were definitely too snug for me. I thought for sure I'd be able to break them in, but I couldn't stand the discomfort I felt in these shoes after wearing them to and from work for the past 3 days. The strap that goes across the foot is by far the most uncomfortable part of this shoe. It was way too snug, even with the stretchy attachment, and it rubbed relentlessly on where the strap meets the shoe. Foot liners and mole skin did help though. I also developed horrible blisters on the backs of my heels. My feet are somewhat sensitive, but I just couldn't handle the level of discomfort I felt in these, which most likely came from the shoe just being overall too tight. Also, the inner sole of the shoes comes right out! And underneath is a thin piece of cardboard--incredibly cheap. I will be taking them back to the store tomorrow for a refund or store credit. These are definitely NOT worth $30!

comfortable, but strap is low

Comments about safeTstep Women's Irina Ballet Flat:

I love these, comfortable, fit my wide feet, but the strap is so low that my apparently narrow heels slip out and mess up my socks. They would be PERFECT if the strap angled back just a bit, maybe a half inch. The strap has some nice elastic on it so it doesn't cut off circulation over the top of my foot, so the shoe guy was doubtful the strap could be moved. I hope the shoe repair guy has an idea of a nice-looking way to add a second strap. I'm ok if I don't run or dance.

Best Non-slip Shoes EVER!!

Comments about safeTstep Women's Irina Ballet Flat:

These were the absolute greatest pair of non-slips I have ever purchased!!! VERY upset they are discontinued. I have had MULTIPLE pairs (got a new puppy, he ate a lot of shoes). They were reasonably priced, a lot of the times on sale or I had a coupon. They were so incredibly comfortable. I did have to get a half size larger or a wide so my toes were not squished but the strap never was a bother, never got blisters. I always wore with socks (the little socks that you can't really see when you wear these types of shoes) Never once had a problem except when my dog ate them and I had to go buy more. PLEASE BRING THEM BACK! My current pair is about a year old, I wear them every single day for at least 8 hours a day so they are on their way out and I need a new pair!!

Cute looking but not comfortable

Comments about safeTstep Women's Irina Ballet Flat:

I purchased these shoes in a Payless store and was able to try them on before taking them home. They fit okay in the store. These shoes are very cute and they look nice on but as other reviewers have mentioned, the strap across the top and decorative button cause significant problems. The button digs into the side of your foot and causes pain, and the strap has zero give, despite a small piece of elastic holding the button down. I also get blisters wearing them. If you are able to purchase them a size larger, or in a wide if you normally wear a medium width, they might work, but I would definitely recommend a trial wear period before you wear them 8+ hours - or bring a spare pair of shoes to change into. I did keep them and if I wear them with thin socks it is not so bad, but I still have to put some kind of protector over my foot where the button is.

Good for a Short Time

These shoes look nice and are slip resistant, which is nice when you're working as a server. However, these shoes give terrible support if you need to be on your feet for hours at a time. After putting in insoles, the shoes no longer fit properly in the toes. If you're only going to be on your feet for a few hours, then these are fine, they're just not suitable for longer periods of time.

Cute but not comfortable

Comments about safeTstep Women's Irina Ballet Flat:

I thought they would be cute for the Hostess position I'm about to start. And finding "cute" slip resistant shoes was becoming difficult. I decided to wear them around the house all day while I do house cleaning etc.. the next day after I purchased them to break them in. I probably wore them for about 6 hours strait. I was on my feet most of the time. Within 1 hour they started to hurt my feet but I decided to hang in there thinking they needed more time to break in. By the end I decided that they were not going to get any better. The strap across the top is part of the problem. It's to tight and they don't have a way to adjust it.. And i just have average size 7 feet that aren't wide or puffy or anything. The little decorative button on the side just ads to the discomfort due to it presses against the side of your foot. They are just not good shoes to be on your feet for any length of time. I was really disappointed since I wanted a cute pair for my position and was having a hard time finding them. So I returned them the next day and went somewhere else and got just an average not as cute pair. But at least these ones will be comfortable.

These shoes are versatile enough to wear with business dress or jeans. And they're comfortable enough to wear for 18-20 hour days. I'm ordering my second pair!

Comments about safeTstep Women's Irina Ballet Flat:

I have an extremely wide foot and on top of that overgrowth of bones. I have scar tissue on one foot and no cushion on the ball of my foot. I love these shoes. Got them in the wide side. The cushion is great. I can wear them all day and my feet don't hurt at the end of the day. I want another pair so I have them when these wear out.

Stylish but not comfortable.

Comments about safeTstep Women's Irina Ballet Flat:

I tried these on in the regular size and they felt ok but I have a wider foot so I asked the sales clerk for the wide version. The store didn't have them in wide so she found another store that did have them. The new store put them on hold until I could get there.
Because the first pair fit, I almost didn't try on the new pair but the clerk asked and I decided it might be a good idea.
Truthfully, I couldn't tell the difference between the wide style and the regular style so I looked at the size label on the shoe, just to be sure.
I decided to purchase them figuring that a little wear and they'd be good. WRONG!
The shoe itself isn't bad. It was fairly comfortable except that it has almost no cushion so you'd need a cushion insert to comfortably wear these all day long.
The biggest problem is the strap. It's cute but the manufacturer made these as if we have absolutely flat insteps/vamps. The shoe fits fine but the strap digs into your foot. Not good.
At the end of wearing these for 2 hours (while sitting down), I was in excruciating pain. These shoes hurt!
If they were made of real leather that could be stretched, it would be no problem but faux leather stretches very little.

Hurt - After one day!

By

Comments about safeTstep Women's Irina Ballet Flat:

My daughter needed these for middle school and she was on her feet all day yesterday, her first day of school. She complained that they hurt and it felt like a "knife stabbing the inner side of her foot." I stretched them out and will see after today if I need to go get her some new shoes. We will take these back. They are extremely expensive for shoes that are not leather and to hurt after only the first time wearing them. Why are your shoes so expensive???
