Bought these shoes for work, and I probably walk 5 miles if not more while on the job. These shoes are still going strong but the soles are wearing down and loosing the grip they use to have. But hey, it took 8 months at 40 hours a week of no mercy to get there, they are great and comfortable shoes that did not wear out or break on the sides...I just walked the bottoms way down and they are finally loosing the bottom cushioning. Love Champions!

Although these sneakers are very comfortable and are affordable, I feel that the quality is severely lacking. I haven't even worn these sneakers for 6 months and I already have a hole in the top toe portion of my right sneaker! Champion used to be a high quality brand name I could trust. I was very disappointed that these sneakers weren't made to be more durable, especially since they fit well and are very comfortable. It is a shame that I can't say I would recommend this brand of sneaker.

Comments about Champion Women's Solstyce Sport Runner:
I have always liked the pink and black color scheme that I see ladies wearing all the time and when I saw these at payless I had to have them! I normally wear a men's 10.5 and I got these in a 12 wide since they're technically women's sneakers. Sneakers are sneakers so find what you like and wear them. I have worn them on a few errands and so far so good!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Love this shoe
from Monroe MI
I just love this shoe. Best comfort I have had in a long time. I have had my pair for a year now and they are still like new. Boyfriend bought me a new pair for Christmas in a different color

These are really cute sneakers and they are the most comfortable one's I've ever had. This is only my 2nd day wearing them but so far, so good.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I wear a size 10 extra wide shoe. My feet are very wide and almost flat, and I have a terrible time finding shoes that fit and are comfortable. I bought size 10W, and the sole of my foot actually hangs over the side of the shoe somewhat. However, these shoes are so forgiving that this makes no practical difference in how they feel. These shoes are extremely squishy. It feels like walking on gel. I find them very comfortable, but they don't offer much support. I would not use them for serious running or jogging long distances. They are great for casual wear. I've only worn them a few times, and to tell the truth these shoes feel somewhat flimsy. I don't expect them to last more than a year, but they are so comfortable that I bought two more pair so I'll have some when the originals wear out.

Looking for work shoes
from Rifton, NY
I work in retail so I'm constantly on my feet and I was looking for a shoe I could wear for 7+ hours a day that wouldn't make my feet feel like they were hit my a train at the end of the night. These shoes were my savior.I've read reviews about the insole coming out and everything else and I can tell you exactly why those reviews happen. With this shoe, the insole in glued to the bottom of inside shoe. If you don't take your shoes off the correct way (untying them and taking your feet out) the insoles WILL come out. I've had a couple loose threads but they weren't long enough to worry about or cause any problems. The top of the shoe has been strung overlapping cloth and thread to make the shoe light and airy. Not heavy like other sneakers. If you take proper care of your sneakers, these will last you a long time.

At first, they feel great...and then...
I ordered these shoes a while back (I believe over a year ago) and loved them when I first put them on. I wore them in the house to see if they needed breaking in and was surprised at how light and comfortable they were. Felt more like slippers! Took them on vacation with me where I did a lot of walking and this folks, is where the fairy tale ends. Not even a month into wearing them, the memory foam had gone completely flat with no bounce back and I was basically walking on the hard sole. I had to buy insoles to try and make them last as the rest of the shoe held up pretty well. But that didn't last long and soon had major back, knee and hip pain. (I'm in my early 40's and active, these made me feel like I needed a cane and physical therapy!) Oh and a side note...I had bought these in late Spring/early Summer. These were incredibly HOT. The black in retrospect was a bad choice but they were the only ones at the time that weren't all the crazy stupid color combos that sneakers come in now, but also, these didn't breathe as well as they felt like they should. If I stood in the sun, my feet felt like they were on fire.
Merchant response: Hello - I sincerely apologize for the discomfort that you experienced with these shoes and I will forward your comments to our Quality Assurance department for further review.
I've owned a pair of these shoes for about a year. I work in an office, so I only wear them a few times a month. On the good side, they are the kind of shoes you don't have to "break in," they felt immediately comfortable. On the downside, after wearing them for an entire day of intense walking, it felt like they didn't have enough support. Maybe it's because of the memory foam used in the shoes, or the fact that they are sort of "cheaply" made, but by the end of the day my arches were killing me. .
