Returns and Exchanges

For your shopping convenience, Payless.com purchases can be returned at any of our physical stores. Our Store Locator can even help you find the store closest to you!

When returning or exchanging an item in-store, please bring:

  • The original packing slip/receipt
  • The credit card used to purchase the item
  • The item to return or exchange

Refunds will be credited to the card used to make the original purchase, except for purchases made using PayPal. Please allow one or two billing cycles for the credit to appear on your statement.

Cash purchases returned to a Payless store will have refunds issued in cash if you present your order packing slip. A Payless gift card for the amount of the purchase will be issued if the packing slip is not present.

For in-store returns on PayPal purchases, you will receive a Payless gift card for the purchase amount. You must return the product by mail to have a refund credited back to your PayPal account.

Shipping and handling charges cannot be refunded unless you received an incorrect or damaged item. To be reimbursed shipping and handling charges for an incorrect or damaged item, you must return your purchase by mail. Instructions on returning items by mail can be found on the back of your customer receipt. Exchanges can be made in-store only; we do not accept exchanges by mail.

If you don't have a customer receipt, live outside of the continental United Sales, or you made an in-store purchase, please return your item to one of our thousands of stores nationwide.

 

Refunds

Credit Card Refunds

All credits will be placed on the same credit card used for the original purchase. Allow one or two billing cycles for the credit to appear on your statement.

Cash purchases returned to a Payless store will have refunds issued in cash if you present your order packing slip. A Payless gift card for the amount of the purchase will be issued if the packing slip is not present. If your order was cancelled after paying with cash, you will be issued a Payless gift card or a paper check by our customer service team.

Shipping Charge Refunds

For your satisfaction, we work hard to ensure that every order is filled correctly and that products we send are free from defects. If we do make a mistake, you can return your item by mail or to a store near you for a quick and easy refund of the purchase price plus applicable sales tax. However, we cannot refund shipping and handling charges in our stores. To be reimbursed shipping and handling charges for an incorrect or damaged item, you must return your purchase by mail following the instructions on the back of your customer receipt.

Buy One, Get One 1/2 OFF and Buy Two, Get One FREE Refunds

For purchases with a multiple item discount, you will receive a credit for the purchase price of an item you received at half price. You may also choose to exchange that item for another item of the same or lesser regular price value. Free items may only be exchanged for an item of the same or lesser regular price value.
